FAQ
Are your products microwaveable?
To properly care for and maintain the long life of your melamine products, we do not recommended microwaving them. Exposure to microwaves can disturb the integrity of the material, especially when combined with highly acidic foods like tomato sauce. We suggest using a separate microwavable plate or bowl to heat meals before serving them on our dishes or platters.
Are your products dishwasher safe?
Our products are dishwasher safe, top and bottom rack. For our Tritan acrylic drinkware products, we recommend using the top rack on a normal dishwashing cycle.
Can I use knives on your plates and platters?
We recommend avoiding the use of serrated knives and utensils on our solid color and patterned dinnerware.
Are your products BPA-free?
Yes, all of our melamine and Tritan drinkware products are BPA free.
Is it safe to put cooked food directly from the grill onto your plates?
Yes. Our plates are heat-resistant and can withstand temperatures of up to 158°F / 70°C so placing hot, grilled food onto the plates is perfectly safe.
Why do I see clouding or fingerprints on my drinkware?
Certain chemicals, including sunscreens, cosmetics with sunscreen, and some essential oils, can damage acrylic. We recommend avoiding contact between your drinkware and these substances.
Is melamine oven-safe?
No, is not recommended for oven use due to the extremes heat.
Is melamine kid-friendly?
Q Home products are virtually shatterproof, so kids and families can use our products indoors and outdoors without worrying about chipping or breaking.
Is melamine food safe?
Yes! Our products are 100% food safe. Our premium melamine is produced in our small and specialized factory. We abide by the strictest manufacturing standards and proudly use all natural dyes.
Where are you products made?
Our products are designed in New York City and manufactured in our small-batch factory in China.
Can melamine be recycled?
Melamine is categorized under Class #7 on the list of Plastic Resin Codes. This means that it is a widely used plastic that does not fit into the more commonly used #1-6 classifications and should not be thrown in your recycling bin. Melamine cannot be melted or recycled like other plastics. However, it can be ground down and used as a filler for other plastics or wood composites.
