I purchased two of these bowls on clearance, as pet water bowls. I didn't want breakable glass or ceramics out on the porch area, but wanted something non-porous and easy to clean. I tried a large stainless steel bowl, but the cats were hesitant to drink from it - the reflective shine seemed to put them off. They've already been using this one - the width doesn't crowd their whiskers when drinking, so they approve. Anyhow, these are larger than anticipated (yes, I had a ruler and did try to envision the dimensions, and was still rather surprised). They are also quite heavy, which is not a bad thing - they certainly won't get knocked over easily. I'm holding one back for people-use, as it would be great for when I bring dishes for potlucks; non breakable, attractive and easy to clean - what more could I ask? I may need to purchase another, so I can have 2 to swap water dishes out while cleaning, as I'd planned originally.
